Potential Assets From The Promoted Sides

Part of the fun of playing FPL is trying to identify the newly promoted team(s) and players from those sides who will actually make an impact. Of course, it’s usually not as easy as it seems it should be. Do you have an eye on players from any of the newly promoted sides among Fulham, Bournemouth or Nottingham Forest, or are you staying away due to uncertainty?

Fulham: London’s oldest club are back in the Premier League after being in the Championship for a season but this time they look very well-equipped to give it a real go of staying up in England’s 1st Division for at least another season. In 43 out of the 46 games last season, Marco Silva used the 4-2-3-1 formation with Mitrovic being the main man up top. The Portuguese tactician mostly likes to stick with his preferred starting XI. Mitrovic had a reputation of being a trap in FPL previously but this is a different Mitrovic altogether. He’s the first-choice penalty taker for the club and seems to fancy himself from some direct free kicks as well which is an added bonus. Mitrovic needs to have a great season if Fulham want to stay up this time around though. He scored 4 goals and an assist in their preseason matches.

The Welshman Harry Wilson is the chief playmaker in this Fulham side. Takes most of the corners and indirect freekicks and is the main freekick taker for the Cottagers so at £6m he could prove to be an FPL gem this season. He has played 199 minutes and contributed with 1 goal and an assist in his 3 preseason matches.

Fulham’s new signing Andreas Pereira offers great value at only £4.5m. He can play in various attacking positions but since he’s started in the attacking midfield position & at left wing in Fulham’s preseason friendlies against Benfica & Estoril respectively, he should be fairly nailed on to start. There are quite a few players at that £4.5m price bracket who’d start most games, but I think Andreas Pereira might be one of the best. He already played all four preseason matches and contributed with 2 assists.

Bournemouth: Bournemouth are back in the Premier League after a 2-year halt! The Cherries had the best defensive record in the league letting in only 39 goals. Scott Parker mostly used the 4-3-3 formation last campaign with that system changing to a 4-2-3-1 when in possession utilizing a double pivot & with Billing playing further up the pitch, just behind Solanke (£6.0m).

Solanke’s goal scoring exploits is one of the key reasons why Bournemouth are back in the Premier League. The Englishman scored 29 goals and provided 7 assists in 46 apps in the Championship last season & he was involved in 48.6% of Cherries’ goals. He is the main penalty taker for the team. At only £6m he provides great value and is the best fantasy asset from Bournemouth. With just 1.5% ownership Solanke played 295 minutes in their four preseason matched and scored 2 goals.

Nottingham Forest: Nottingham Forest do not have many potential fantasy prospects. If anyone want to choose some budget options from Forest, they can obviously have a look on their new signings. Just 4.0m budget defender Neco Williams, who have played 273 minutes in his 4 preseason appearances, Former United keeper Henderson (£4.5m), who have played 433 minutes in his 6 preseason appearances, and their most exciting signing Jesse Lingard (£6.0m) are created some appeal among the fantasy managers.
