Salah’s explosiveness, new role under new team formation etc…..nothing new to say about him. Salah is Salah. The FPL King had 19 goals and 13 assists last season and never scored less than 230 points in any season he played for Liverpool. This guy screams good captaincy in GW2 too. I think it would be foolish to take a minus hit to bring in Salah in the second week in the same way as Kane to Haaland transfer did in the second week of last season. Still he is on penalty and likes to make big hauls in the first week. Surprisingly Salah has only 25.7% ownership.
Rashford started last season at 6.5m and scored 17 goals and provided 7 assists. Among all midfielders in his price bucket, he ranked 1st for xGI last season. The second most owned Midfielders prefers to score at home. Five of United’s first eight games are at home. Between Bruno and Rashford, I’d put Rashford ahead because of the greater goal threat.
Bruno Fernandes will be more nailed, less injury prone and on penalties but less of a goal risk and more likely to assist with the ball to Rashford. He had 8 goals and 9 assists last season. We will now have to see what Fernandez’s position is going to be in pre-season as he may play a bit deeper to accommodate Mount or both of them are number eight role.
Saka is a hugely promising player who is already making a big impact at Arsenal. Last season he scored 14 goals and had 12 assists. The most owned midfielders drive more spikes for xMins and are more advanced than other attackers. He is also in penalties and corners. The young star may play a more free-flowing, expansive style than last year.
Martinelli is surprisingly cheaper than both Saka and Odegaard. Last season he had 15 goals and 9 assists. He had more big chances and xG than his teammates. He is explosive despite limited playing time. But there is no way to underestimate his potential. There is a soft spot for him.
Odegaard topped the underlying numbers among midfielders and also returned. The cheap 6.5m midfielder scored 15 goals and provided 8 assists last season. He seems a bit expensive for this new season at the same price as Saka. He is now on a direct free-kick when Xhaka is gone. We should keep an eye on him in pre-season matches before considering him.
Mitoma was one of the breakout stars of last season. He scored 7 goals and 9 assists last season. This affordable price holder can play as a wing or central attacking midfielder. He is more nailed than his team mates. After three games he can show you easy ways to move other fixture proven assets. So starting the season with him would be a good decision.
Mbeumo looks nailed on top probably with Wissa alongside. He scored 9 goals and 9 assists last season. FPL decided to make things sweeter for us by placing him as a midfielder. The absolute value bargainer will also take penalties, free kicks and corners.
Maddison is now a critical fantasy asset. He scored 10 goals and provided 9 assists for Leicester City last season. There is no doubt that he has been a proven asset in FPL. But we shouldn’t consider him now. Although more than 17% of managers have already bought him. In fact Spurs need creative people who can break into the final third. May be he is not going to be a goal machine. So we should wait for two or three matches first to see how Postecoglu uses him.
Enciso was launched at GW33 last year, we’ve seen more of the young Paraguayan as the mastermind behind the striker. Last season, he had four goals and three assists. In just seven games he had an xGI of 5.11. If he gets the minutes, he could be the best cheap midfielder this season. Now just keep an eye on the friendly matches.
If I want to pick just one between Mbeumo & Mitoma whose man is this?? I already picked Joao Pedro from Brighton on the forward line.
