Some Random Thoughts About GW4
September 15, 2021
After the introduction of Ronaldo vs Newcastle Greenwood had just one shot inside the box & two from outside, he passed most of the time on the wing and if this keeps going his numbers will go down day by day. I won’t be in hurry to transfer Bruno out as he looked good last week, made some good run towards the box & I think most of the opponent defenders will keep eye on Ronaldo & that will create some space for Bruno to give some return. A lot of people can think that Man UTD has lower chances to get CS in next 3 GWs but the matter is in this week UTD will play vs West Ham without Antonio & without Antonio West Ham is the not West Ham we all know. GW6 UTD will play vs Aston Villa who are still struggling to score goals & on next vs Everton without DCL and whenever Everton play without DCL their goal numbers reduce a lot. So, I think if anyone own Shaw he should be in his place in next 3 GWs.
Earlier in the season it was thought that Duffy was playing as Veltman is injured. But now, Veltman is back & Webster is out so I think Duffy is pretty nailed in this point. But the matter of worry is the fixtures of Brighton to get CS are gone & most of us own Sanchez on goal. So, it can be risky to play Duffy & Sanchez together where there is low chance of CS. Some of us still have& he failed to provide any return again in GW4 that’s a matter of concern. I think Mbuemo is getting more chances to score who had 4 shots on the box & Toney is working to create space. The next 5 fixtures of Toney are not that favorable so it’s okay to sell him in this point I guess if anyone still own him. As his replacement Bamford can be a no brainer choice as he has good fixtures to come but for that some extra cash needed.
Arsenal conceded six shots only inside the box but I don’t think it’s something we should consider that much as they played vs Norwich City. They looked more solid defensively after the inclusion of Thomas Partey. The newly signed Tomiyasu was sitting on back with White & Gabriel but Tierney was going upfront. Aaron Ramsdale has played his first game for Arsenal last week & kept CS. But it’s not clear that he will be the no.1 or not. In forward line nobody looks nailed on for Arsenal apart from Aubameyang as they have so many options so to go with. Maybe we can keep on Ramsdale & the forward line for next 2/3 weeks then a decision can be made. Because a lot of mangers are thinking to use WC on GW 7/8 because of the fixture swing.
Towsend & Gray played really well vs Burnley. But the matter is Towsend is not looking 100% nailed but Gray. A lot of mangers are trying to get Ronaldo or Lukaku in their team and for that they need some budget MIDs in this case Gray can be a very decent. Everton will play vs Aston Villa & Norwich City in next two GWs so we can expect to provide some attacking returns from Gray.
The hyped Algerian Benrahma created only two chances with no touches inside the box that really matter of worry. Livramento looked good well again in this week & he can be good player to keep in the starting XI when The Saints have some CS potential. But the big question of the week is “Keep or sell Antonio”. I think it depends on team balance.
- If anyone one Antonio and don’t have anyone better to play from bench then he can easily get Bamford as Leeds will face Newcastle in GW5 & after that they have good run of fixtures.
- On the other hand, if there is anyone good to play then Antonio can be benched.
- Another situation is if anyone own DCL & Antonio both, DCL should be the first player to sell for sure. So, Antonio will get place on bench.
Manchester City managed to score one goal only but it could be more as their xG was very high in this week. The cityzens had 25 shots with 21 from the box it clears their domination of the game. Grealish had very impressive number in this week with 4 chances created & he was playing very advance with 7 touches inside the box. It’s still not clear that what will happen with Grealish after the return of Foden & KDB but still I think he is a player to consider as his number are really impressing. City have conceded only one big chance in last three weeks so if anyone is thinking to hit WC button then don’t forget to pick a defender from them.
If I start talking Wolves the first thing comes to my mind is Jimenez is playing the role like Bobby Firmino does for LFC. He is creating chances & spaces for other player to lead the attack. Marcal & Semedo are playing like wingers & the real wingers are playing like inside forwards. Semedo had two big chances, five touches inside the box I think he will get some goals. And about Marcal, he was more focused to cross the ball in the good area. Wolves have very decent green fixtures till GW14. So, any of these two defenders can be very god shout for attacking return & CS. Both are good choice but I think Semedo worths the extra 0.4m money.
Kovacic had a good game last week and after that performance a lot of mangers are buying him as well but I will say “JUST DON’T GO THERE” because he is not an FPL material. Lukaku scored two goals from two shots but there is nothing to be surprised about this as it’s just a regular day in his office. So, there is absolutely nothing to talk more about it.
Trent Alexander-Arnold impressed once again & created 5 chances yet again last week and that increases his tally. As a Jota owner I am very disappointed after watching last game. Jota created two chances for Mane & Mane missed both. Salah could easily get more points if Mane passed one/two balls to him. But interestingly Salah is creating more chances in this season. Only Trent & Grealish have created more chances than him. Leeds will get very good run of fixtures from GW5 so, Raphinha & Bamford can be picked without thinking twice I think but there is still a question mark about their backline.
Really a good review.
