YOU SHOULD HOLD
August 18, 2023
1. Gabriel is the fifth most sold player before Game Week 2. People seem worried about the price drop. Jurien Timberlake’s long-term injury sees Gabriel return. Gabriel started 38 games for Arsenal last season and was arguably the best goal threat among Arsenal defenders. He was unexpectedly benched during the first game week of the season. But I still believe it is better to save the transfer for the next game week and give him another chance.
2. Salah failed to score in the opening game of the season for the first time in six seasons. He was very lively in Game Week 1 and a 5 pointer with his 1 shot hitting the woodwork and 1 marginal offside call doesn’t prove how good he was. The FPL King’s next game at home against Bournemouth saw him remain an effective and differential captain’s choice. Bournemouth especially cut down 5 chances down the left. Now is the time to trust your instincts.
3. Rashford and Bruno are the only selected attackers of Manchester United. Both of them failed to prove themselves as fantasy assets in their season openers. Basically Bruno played very badly. Besides, Rashford took 4 shots from inside the box and created a big chance out of them. All in all they completely failed to finish. But their second match is against a very attacking side where they are more likely to score on the counter. Again in week three they will play against Nottingham Forest who conceded the most goals last season. Looking at past seasons, Rashford and Bruno are proven fantasy players. So give them time.
4. Mitoma is a master of Brighton skills. He is the only safe and reliable attacker in Brighton’s side. He failed to score in the first match of the season against a newly promoted side. But he got an assist. He was such a popular asset in the 6.5m budget midfielder category. His next opponent Wolves conceded four chances down the right flank which is his flank. So hold him and let him explode.
5. Unlucky Eze with high underlying numbers. Eight goal attempts, five shots into the box, eight penalty area touches, nine crosses and seven chance created make easy hold for me until the October international break. He also dominates the set piece.
6. Nicholas Jackson also put in a great performance on the opening weekend but a lack of returns has not helped his FPL popularity. He took four shots in the box and sat on top with three for big chances. The chances will keep coming for him and Chelsea have had a great run of games. So keep your faith in him.
Ya ya, right 😎
